Sometimes you may want a single report which shows the total amount of volunteer activity for a specific range, but just for external groups. The key thing is you'd want that report to list each groups name with totals for their activity. This can be accomplished with the Custom Event Registrations Report.
This only works for registrations under reservations for the external User Groups. Generally, this is what you'd want as you'd only want to count times each volunteer came to events specifically representing their group.
- Set the Date Range at the top
- To remove events with no registrations, click the filter for something like 'Last Name', and choose "Not Blank"
- Within the search box for 'User Group Lineage' type the name of the parent User Group which contains the groups you're wishing to report on.
In the example above, I typed 'volunteer' as I want to report on all my external groups and they all are nested under a shared parented named "Volunteer Groups." If I wanted only corporate groups, I would have typed 'corporate' instead. Exactly what you type will be dependent on your User Groups structure. - Drag the entire column header for 'User Group Lineage' to the top area above the report to sort by that column
- Remove any columns you don't need / move columns around to get it to look the way you'd like and save the report if you may need it again
- Exporting the report to Excel contains built-in collapsible options to end with a spreadsheet with only the name of the groups with their Slots Used and Hours.
